Optional PSAT 8/9-8th gr. students Register 10/13

Optional - PSAT 8/9 being offered to 8th Grade Students on October 30th

  • The PSAT 8/9 is a voluntary assessment – there are no awards or recognition associated with this assessment nor is there any penalty for not taking the PSAT 8/9.
  • In high school, students will have the opportunity to take the PSAT 8/9, PSAT, and SAT in school.
  • If you choose for your child to take the PSAT 8/9, you must register your child to take the assessment through the Test Registration portal. If not registered, the student will not take the assessment.
  • If you want your 8th grade student to take the PSAT 8/9, you must register by October 13th.
  • If you choose for your child NOT to take the PSAT 8/9, you do not have to take any action.
  • The PSAT 8/9 will be given in the Main Stage - Administration time is 4.5 hours (ends at 1:00 pm).
  • In-School and Distance Learning instruction will still take place – Teachers will be teaching class on October 30th – instruction continues – students taking the PSAT 8/9 will miss instruction.
  • Students choosing to participate in the PSAT 8/9 will have an excused absences donated with an “S”.
  • Students are required to turn in any previously assigned work due that day by the teacher’s deadline (homework - work outside the classroom).
  • Students must make up/complete/submit any assigned classwork or homework assignments given in class on October 30th, no later than November 2nd – since that is the end of the 1st nine weeks.

If you choose to have your child take the PSAT 8/9 – You must register on your child’s student portal no later than October 13th- please need to be made for October 30th.

  • Log into to the student portal (must login with the student ID information)
  • Type in the search bar: Testing
  • Click on the Tile (Testing Registration)
  • Fill out the survey completely
  • Students must bring in a calculator
  • Students will be expected to wear a mask and follow all school and CDC guidelines.
  • Once registration is completed, the parents of registered students will receive additional information.
