SCOPE AND SEQUENCE

6^th Grade:
Intermediate I Strings, Intermediate II Strings, or Advanced Strings

7^th Grade:
Intermediate II Strings or Advanced Strings (audition only).
Music Theory
Symphony Orchestra - this is an elective class.

8^th Grade:
Intermediate II Strings or Advanced Strings (audition only).
Eighth Grade Chamber Ensemble (audition only).
Symphony Orchestra - this is an elective class.

All students will have the opportunity to participate in Solo & Ensemble which typically takes place the last Saturday in January. In addition, the Intermediate II, Advanced String Orchestra and Symphony Orchestras participate in our annual District 14, Florida Orchestra Association’s Music Performance Assessments which usually happen in March.

Musicians in the 7^th and 8^th grade, have the opportunity to audition for the Middle School Florida Music Educator Association’s Conference also referred to as “All-state.” If selected, the students rehearse and perform in Tampa during the early part of January.
